§ Mr. Milburn[holding answer 5 March 1998]The amount of interest payable at the end of Quarter 2 1997–98, and the interest as a percentage of income is disclosed in the table. The interest payable is almost entirely due to the Consolidated Loans Fund. National Health Service trusts are allowed to open commercial bank accounts and, subject to Departmental agreement, can use an overdraft facility. Trusts in the table marked with an asterisk have an overdraft at Quarter 2, but relevant interest payable is not separately identified in monitoring returns.
