§ Lord WhittyThe total number of displaced people is difficult to establish as there is constant movement of people. The UN estimate that some 350,000 are affected by the current crisis, with a significant proportion of this group—mostly those displaced by fighting—in need of urgent assistance. The total group being targeted for assistance this year is 720,000. It is impossible to predict how many will be unable to meet their food needs in six months' time.
