§ Mr. ByersIn addition to provisions in the School Standards and Framework Bill, the Chief Inspector is implementing a programme of changes which are intended to improve the quality of inspectors and inspections. In particular, subject to legislation, the Chief Inspector will have a new duty to maintain a list of inspection team members and will have powers to remove inspectors from that list where they are judged not to be competent to inspect schools.
