To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what figure for the national minimum wage was assumed in the preparation of the Budget. [35394]

The Government are committed to setting the national minimum wage at a sensible level once they have the advice of the Low Pay Commission, taking into account the effects on employment, inflation and the public finances.
