To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the locations of the British Council(a) headquarters and (b) other buildings in the United Kingdom, providing a breakdown of (i) staff numbers, (ii) salary costs and (iii) running costs for each building in (1) London and (2) Scotland. The British Council's headquarters are located in London and Manchester. In addition, the Council has a presence, which may range from a single room to part of a building, in Aberdeen, Bangor, Belfast, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Canterbury, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Guildford, Huddersfield, Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, London (Portland Place and Telford Way), Loughborough, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford, Plymouth, Reading, Southampton and Warwick.
