The information requested falls within the responsibility of the Chief Executive of the Office for National Statistics. I have asked him to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from Tim Holt to Mr. David Tredinnick, dated 24 March 1998: As Director of the Office for National Statistics (ONS), I have been asked to reply to your parliamentary question on how many people have died from overdoses of vitamin B6 since July 1997. Based on provisional 1997 data, there have been no deaths certified as due in part or whole to vitamin B6 overdose in the period July to December 1997. Data for 1998 are not yet available.
