§ Mr. Fatchett[holding answer 20 March 1998]: The attendance at the second Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 2) will be the same as at the first Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 1) in Bangkok in 1996. The participants are: on the Asian side—Brunei, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam; on the European side—the 15 member States of the European Union plus the European Commission. All these countries will be sending their Head of State or Government or a representative.
