§ Mr. FatchettThe Joint Liaison Group held its 42nd Plenary Meeting in London from 17 to 18 March. The two sides consulted and exchanged views on a range of matters related to the implementation of the Sino-British Joint Declaration on Hong Kong, including the forthcoming legislative elections in Hong Kong; basic rights and freedoms, including freedom of the press; the registration and indemnification of Hong Kong satellites; Vietnamese boat people in Hong Kong; and the continued application of international treaties to Hong Kong.
