§ Mr. BanksThe total grant-in-aid awarded by the United Kingdom and the English Sports Councils for the years in question is set out in the table. Many governing bodies also benefit from a number of services and programmes provided by the Sports Councils or organisations funded by them, and from the use of facilities and services provided by the six National Sports Centres. My Department provides grant-in-aid directly to the British Chess Federation.
