§ Mr. SpellarMOD seeks nominations of candidates for appointments to public bodies using a wide range of sources, including the Public Appointments Unit and advertising, to ensure that there is the widest possible dissemination of information about vacancies. Since 1 May 1997, 4 appointments to public bodies have been made from the Public Appointments Unit list. In addition, a further 11 have been considered for appointment but were not successful.
