§ Lord Williams of MostynUnder the Criminal Appeal Act 1995 Schedule 1, paragraph 4(1), the Criminal Cases Review Commission has discretion to appoint such employees as it thinks fit (subject to the consent of the Secretary of State as to their number and terms and conditions of service) to enable it to carry out its functions.
It would not be appropriate for Her Majesty's Government to comment on the Criminal Cases Review Commission's internal arrangements concerning recruitment.
