To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was total spending on health services in Lancashire in(a) April 1996 to April 1997 and (b) April 1997 to April 1998. [47254]

This is based on the population figures for 1996/97, which indicate that 44 per cent. of residents served by the health authority actually live within Lancashire. The actual total spending on health services by Morecambe Bay was £202,763,000
