To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer of 18 May 1998,Official Report, column 263, how many of the 1997 European Communities legislative items were incorporated into United Kingdom law by (a) primary legislation and (b) statutory instrument; and what is the procedure for determining the appropriate vehicle for the incorporation of EU instruments.
