§ Mr. Banks[holding answer 15 June 1998]: NESTA' s responsibilities are to be in the fields of science, technology and the arts. Neither the promotion of sporting activities nor the provision of support for individual sports men and women fall within NESTA's remit. However, in 236W helping people turn good ideas into products and services, it would be open to NESTA to support the development of technological or scientific products or services for sports men and women. Decisions on how NESTA will go about meeting its statutory objects will be a matter for its Trustees.
