To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department on what date the IAA received from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office the papers relating to immigration appeal No. GV100/46408/AP; and if he will make a statement. [54280]

The IAA received the papers on 14 April 1998 and are currently awaiting instruction from the appellant's solicitors on whether an oral hearing is required.

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department, pursuant to his answer of 27 March 1998,Official Report, column 297, on departmental transport arrangements, what further changes he has made. [54015]

Mr. Hoon

My Department is working towards the target announced in the White Paper "A New Deal for Transport", that all headquarters and main buildings occupied by Executive Agencies should have green transport plans by March 1999 and all other key buildings by March 2000.

Since my previous reply, new arrangements for our Departmental car fleet have been finalised: the cars will be diesel powered, and the use of low sulphur diesel is being promoted to users.
