Ms Buck

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the special grants made to each London borough in 1997–98 for the reimbursement of costs incurred in the support of adult asylum seekers, their children and families and unaccompanied asylum seekers, stating in each case the amounts of grant(a) paid, (b) claimed and (c) paid as a percentage of the total claimed in England and Wales. The following tables show the amount of special grants paid to each London Borough in 1997/98 and the percentage of the total claimed as a percentage of the total claimed in England. The figures requested for Wales are a matter for my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Wales.
