To ask the President of the Council how much her Department spent on IT, itemising(a) personal computers, (b) main-frame, (c) minicomputers and (d) file servers in the last year for which figures are available. [52886]

The Privy Council Office spent £61,714.80 on IT equipment during 1997–98. Of this sum, £57,296.04 was spent on personal computers. None of the other items specified was purchased.
