asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (a) to list for each member state net and gross contributions to the European Union budget for the last year for which figures are available, including net receipts; and
  2. (b) to break down net and gross contributions for each member state by household and population. [HL3122]

1996 is the latest year for which information about member states' contributions and receipts is available. The information requested, in respect of that year, is set out in the following table. The amounts shown are in European Currency Units, the unit of account for the EC Budget.
