§ Mr. SpellarThe latest information on expenditure on defence research can be found in Table 2.1 of "Science, Engineering and Technology Statistics 1998", published on 13 July 1998 (CM 4006). A complete list of all organisations supplying research to MOD is not held. However, the principal sources of research for the MOD are the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency, the Atomic Weapons Establishment, and the Defence Clothing and Textiles Agency, although much of the research activity itself is subcontracted to industry.
