To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will list the grants and awards that require bids from applicants which his Department is responsible for administering and awarding(a) nationally and (b) that people and groups within Wakefield Metropolitan District are eligible to bid for; if he will publish the deadlines for these applications; and if he will produce this list on a regular basis. Standards Fund2 A circular is published annually which offers guidance to LEAs on the Standards Fund programme and invites them to make bids where appropriate. The deadline for the 1999–2000 round has not yet been set.
Education Action Zones Autumn 1998
Independent/State School Partnerships Applications for grant in 1998–99 were invited by 27 March 1998. No decision has yet been taken on whether to extend this funding pilot into 1999 and beyond
Grants to LEAs towards the extra costs in providing for Traveller and refugee pupils Section 488 of the 1996 Education Act LEAs will be invited shortly to apply for three-year projects for work beginning in April 1999.
