§ Mr. McLeish[holding answer 24 July 1998]: Local funding is for individual local authorities and other agencies, but nationally, the Scottish Office continues to give grants to Scottish Women's Aid, amounting this year to over £200,000 for their work on developing refuge and other permanent rehousing options for abused women who would otherwise be homeless, and social welfare work and training.
