§ Mrs. Liddell[holding answer 23 July 1998]: The Government are committed to taking the environment into account across all areas of policy. Public Service agreements between the Treasury and other Government Departments will be consistent with the objective of sustainable development. Where relevant, specific environmental objectives will be reflected in the aims and targets in the agreements.
