§ Mr. McLeishIndividual sums of compensation paid to landowners are confidential and cannot be disclosed without their prior consent. In the case of M77 Ayr Road Route compensation payments for the section of the route within Glasgow City Boundary prior to 1 April 1996 were made by Strathclyde Regional Council and subsequently by Glasgow City Council. My right hon. Friend has no knowledge or records of these payments, although he is responsible for meeting the compensation payments on the section of the M77 south of the city boundary to Malletsheugh.
