§ Mr. FieldCurrent plans assume that the project to automate benefit payments at post offices will save £1 million in 1998–99, £64 million in 1999–2000 and £135 million in 2000–2001, in addition to savings of £70 million, £52 million and £52 million from existing anti-fraud measures at post offices over the same period.
