§ Dawn PrimaroloThe self-assessment legislation included a number of measures to simplify the calculation of income tax. These measures were considered in depth by the Self Assessment Consultative Committee which has representatives from all the main organisations representing business and industry bodies and the accountancy and legal professions. The Inland Revenue is listening closely to any practical concerns raised by taxpayers and accountants about self assessment.
