HC Deb 12 January 1998 vol 304 cc68-9W
Mr. Cotter

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many police widows there are in receipt of the preserved rate widow's pension, in each of the police forces of England and Wales; and what is the average weekly payment to them; [22297]

(2) how many retired police officers, who are in receipt of a police injury pension, are now paying tax on the element repayable to police authorities as a result of the changes brought about by the introduction of incapacity benefit; [22296]

(3) how many retired police officers there are in receipt of a police injury pension payable, as a tax free allowance, under Regulation B4 of the Police Pensions Regulations 1987. [22295]

Mr. Michael

Police Pensions Regulations are administered locally by police authorities. The information requested is not therefore available centrally and could be collected only by making inquiries of each of the 43 police forces. It could therefore be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
