§ Mr. WilsonThis matter has been raised with me by the Association of Scottish Colleges. We are considering ways of improving audit procedures without compromising the necessary rigour of financial and academic audit of the further of the further education colleges.

§ Mr. WilsonLetters setting out Government grant-aid allocations to individual further education colleges for 1997–98 were issued in February 1997. We shall advise colleges of their allocations for 1998–99 as soon as we have considered responses to recent consultations on proposed changes to the funding methodology, and taken final decisions.
