To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the current cost to the United Kingdom of its contribution to the Common Agricultural Policy. [21390]

Mr. Rooker

The United Kingdom is expected to contribute about £4.3 billion towards Community expenditure on the CAP in 1997, some of which will be abated next year under the Fontainebleau arrangements.
