§ Mr. BoatengVolunteer drivers are used by the ambulance service as a means of transporting non-emergency patients. They are paid by the mile and ambulance services do not keep records of hours worked. The amounts earned are not collected by the Department but it is likely that the vast majority receive expenses amounting to less than the national average wage.
