§ Ms JowellThe Department of Health is working closely with other Government Departments and agencies, including the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions and the Health and Safety Executive, on what measures might be included in the Tobacco Control White Paper, to be published later this year, to protect the public, including asthma sufferers, from the effects of passive smoking.
The White Paper will also take into account the conclusions of the Scientific Committee on Tobacco and Health (to be published shortly) on the scientific evidence on the health effects of exposure to environmental tobacco smoke.
