§ Mr. Chris SmithI issued a statement agreed with the Director-General, Peter Davis, on Tuesday 3 February. No further statement will be issued which is inconsistent with this without Mr. Davis' prior written consent.
Under the terms of his letter of appointment,Mr. Davis is required to seek the approval of the Head of the Home Civil Service to the proposed text of any memoirs relating to his responsibilities as Director-General.
