HC Deb 17 February 1998 vol 306 c576W
17. Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he has taken to follow up the visit to Scotland by the United Nations team to study the Scottish legal system in respect of the Lockerbie bombing. [28084]

Mr. McLeish

The report of the United Nations legal experts was circulated as an official document of the Security Council. The report concluded that the two Libyan accused would receive a fair trial under the Scottish judicial system. The text of the conclusions of the report was transmitted by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to Diplomatic Missions around the world in order that they might bring these conclusions to the attention of their host governments.
