To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to introduce free eye tests; and to what timescale. [28823]

Free National Health Service sight tests are currently available to children, people on low incomes and people predisposed to, or suffering from, selected eye diseases. The criteria for these sight tests are covered by the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review, which should be completed by the summer.
