§ Ms Glenda JacksonIn designing and constructing works authorised by the Channel Tunnel Rail Link Act 1996, the nominated undertaker must comply with certain Environmental Minimum Requirements, including a Code of Construction Practice. In preparing submissions for approval by local planning authorities under the Act, the nominated undertaker must take into account various objectives and measures set out in the Code. The Code also requires the preparation and implementation of several Environmental Management Plans, including ones for Traffic, Dust and Noise and Vibration.
