§ Angela EagleThe Sustainable Development Unit is located in the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions. Working with the Scottish Office, Welsh Office and Northern Ireland Office, it has a Government-wide remit to promote sustainable development and concern for the environment across Government. The Unit's work programme includes the review of the UK Sustainable Development Strategy; the Greening Government initiative; Freedom of Access to Information on the Environment; Government promotion of Local Agenda 21; and sponsorship of and responding to the Government Panel on Sustainable Development, the UK Round Table on Sustainable Development and the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution.
