§ Mr. IngramDuring 1996, following the cease-fire breakdown, 1.44 million visitors came to Northern Ireland, including 298,000 pure holiday visitors. Current estimates for 1997 suggest a decline on 1996, with total visits falling to around 1.4 million, and pure holiday visitors to 248,000.
