§ Ms Glenda JacksonWork on the M6-M65 link was carried out under a traditional form of civil engineering contract, produced by the Institution of Civil Engineers, under which payment is based on the actual, rather than estimated, work undertaken. It is unlikely that the226W contractors will submit their final accounts for the scheme until next year. Those accounts will then be examined and settled appropriately. It would be premature at this stage to forecast what the final cost is likely to be.
