Friend the Secretary of State made an interim announcement about the review of access to museums and galleries on 8 December 1997,Official Report, columns 652–53. As noted at that time, further consideration is being given to this issue in the context of the Government's Comprehensive Spending review, which will be completed in the summer. A further announcement will be made then.
