§ Ms Glenda Jackson[pursuant to her reply, 6 February 1998, c. 833–34]: The Government sympathise with any insulin-treated diabetics who lose their jobs as drivers following the expiry of their entitlement to drive category C1 vehicles. The change in legislation has been made in the interests of road safety, and it is not normal to provide compensation for those who may be affected by such changes.
