To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many working days were lost in Scotland as a result of industrial action in each year since 1978–79. [22379]

[holding answer 12 January 1998]: The table shows the number of working days lost (in thousands) and the working days lost per 1,000 employees in Scotland in each year since 1978.

The annual figures are given in the table.
