This Department spends no money in Scotland on either.

§ Mr. Mudie[holding answer 15 December 1998]: Schedule 5, Head L2 of the Scotland Act 1998 denotes equal opportunities, a matter reserved to the UK Parliament. A DfEE offices and agencies are subject to the requirements of equal opportunities laws, which are GB-wide. Numbers employed in DfEE offices and agencies, and the DfEE's equal opportunities practices, are contained in the Departmental Report which is in the Library of the House. The published draft Statutory Instrument on Cross-Border Public Authorities lists two DfEE-sponsored bodies, the Construction Industry Training Board and Engineering Construction Industry Training Board, which employ 1,003 (CITB) and 41 (ECITB) staff, and whose equal opportunities practices follow their policies as published in their Annual Reports, which are in the Library.
