§ Mr. BattleGood chemical analysis makes a considerable contribution to our quality of life and our industrial competitiveness. I am satisfied that the Government Chemist is discharging his role as statutory function in a satisfactorily manner. This view is endorsed by the Royal Society of Chemistry and other Government Departments for which the Government Chemist provides analysis and advice.
I have just received the Government Chemist's second annual report and copies will be placed in the Library.
