§ Ms Glenda JacksonThe Minister of Transport had a useful introductory meeting with the Chief Executive of Railtrack on 15 November. A range of issues were discussed, including the piggyback scheme and other rail freight proposals, all of which, in Railtrack's view, would require significant amounts of Government grant. However, no formal proposals or grant application have been received from Railtrack, and the timing of any application was not discussed.
