To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent military operations in the sub-district of Alas in East Timor. [61791]

We are concerned at reports of recent killings in Alas in East Timor. We are working closely with EU partners and others to establish the accuracy of the reports.
