To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans he has for the future of the British Consulate in Aden, Yemen; and if he will make a statement. [61476]

Mr. Fatchett

As my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary stated in the House on 27 November 1998,Official Report, column 443, we have recently conducted a review of the network of British representation overseas and there will be no change in the present representation in Aden. However, we will continue to keep the network under review.
