HC Deb 29 April 1998 vol 311 c158W
Mr. Drew

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will investigate the possibility of co-ordinating insurance policy premiums organised by, and for, vets. [39867]

Mr. Rooker

No; there are a number of independent companies offering insurance policies to cover some of the cost of veterinary treatment for animals.

Mr. Drew

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will investigate the fees charged by vets. [39868]

Mr. Rooker

No. Clients are free to choose their veterinary surgeons. The fees charged by a veterinary surgeon to a client are a private matter between the client and the veterinary surgeon and are not the responsibility of this Department.
