HC Deb 29 April 1998 vol 311 c149W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received on access by disabled people to the National Assembly. [39740]

Mr. Ron Davies

I have received a number of representations, including those from Disability Wales and Wales Council for the Blind. In my consultation paper, I made it clear that one of the fundamental requirements of the Assembly was access for the public, including those with disabilities. My decision to construct a new building will provide the best scope for meeting the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
