They have supervised investigations into 14 fatal shootings between 1991 and 1997. In every case they have issued a certificate under section 89(7) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, recording their satisfaction with the way in which the investigation was conducted. They are still investigating one case of a fatal shooting during that period.
