To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if she will make a statement on her plans for the Treasury Grant. [38245]

Mr. Denham: I refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave him on 9 March 1998, Official Report, columns 88–90.

We have no plans to change the basis on which Treasury Grant is made available to the National Insurance Fund.
