HC Deb 08 April 1998 vol 310 c356W
Dr. Gibson

To ask the President of the Board of Trade what is the basis of her Department's calculations of the costs per job created in cases where Government support is sought. [37867]

Mrs. Roche

[holding answer 6 April 1998]: For RSA grants, the basis of the Department's cost per job (CPJ) calculation is the value of the grant divided by the number of full time equivalent (FTE) jobs directly created or safeguarded by the project. The definition of a full time equivalent job is 30 hours per week or more. Two part-time jobs of 15 or more hours per week count as equivalent to 1 full time job.
